As a floor manager, you are responsible for the daily operations at LAB-1: you ensure that films, daily activities, and service all run smoothly. You handle the film screenings by operating the equipment and checking the films.
You are often present on the floor, ensuring that service runs efficiently and that service staff are active and focused. You take part in daily operations and guide the service employees. You bring structure and optimize workflows to ensure the café and cinema halls are presentable and our guests are well taken care of.
As floor manager, you lead the team, coordinate and monitor tasks, train new employees, and create work schedules. You are also responsible for inventory management and coordinate both daily and monthly cleaning schedules. In addition, you carry out small maintenance tasks such as replacing broken light bulbs, unclogging toilets, etc.
You also support small events: this includes connecting a laptop, microphone, lighting, and similar (light) technical tasks.
You have a strong sense of hospitality and are a role model for your team. Where possible, you assist them with their tasks. You inspire and guide them to deliver the unique and cozy LAB-1 experience to our guests.
You are the first point of contact for complaints, emergencies, or technical issues. You handle the initial problem and report it to the technician.
Your qualifications:

Minimum MBO/HBO (intermediate/higher vocational education) working and thinking level;

Demonstrable experience in management and hospitality, including behind the bar or in service;

A team player and a strong leader;

Assertive and stress-resistant;

Productive, organized, punctual, focused, detail-oriented, customer-friendly, and communicative;

In possession of a BHV (Emergency Response) and/or Social Hygiene certificate (or willing to obtain one);

Living in or near Eindhoven – you must be able to get home independently after 1:30 a.m.;

Good verbal and written communication skills in English;

Interest in art and culture;

Flexible mindset – willing to work irregular hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Sometimes you will work at parties until 6:00 a.m.

Details:
- This is a position for approximately 30 hours per week;
- We work at the location, our working week is Monday-Thursday, unless you make material from an event – then presence in the evening or in the weekend might be necessary;

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Event Coordination: Plan events in collaboration with the Event Manager and Creative Director. Execute events during the night, coordinate workflows, and work closely with the organizing team.
- Staff Management: Train and guide event staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Venue Operations: Oversee the daily nightlife activities at LAB-1 in partnership with the Event Manager.
- Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement effective strategies to promote events and attract a diverse audience.
- Customer Service: Foster positive relationships with customers, address concerns, and ensure high customer satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in nightlife or event management.

We are looking for enthusiastic and diligent bartenders!
As a service employee you do:
- The business card of the cinema, you are helpful and kind to our guests;
- You take orders in the halls and at the bar;
- You serve our guests and the bar and waiter the orderds to the cinema rooms;
- You accept payments;
- You are also responsible for keeping the cinema halls, toilets and foyers clean and tidy;
- You help with the preparation, such as preparing the rooms and replenishing stock;
- You help guests with the tickets and check the tickets;
- You provide information about movies and guide guests to the right room and seat;
- You are ready to work 3 shifts a week, around 21 hours;
- One of the shifts has to be in the weekend;
- If you are 18+, you are also ready to work at the night parties;

As a B2B Event Manager & Coordinator, you play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, seamless B2B events. In this position, you are not only responsible for planning and executing corporate events but also for coordinating logistics and overseeing operational execution on the event day to ensure everything runs smoothly. Additionally, you are responsible for identifying and acquiring new corporate clients to expand our event offerings.
With at least a Bachelor’s degree in Management, Hospitality, or Tourism and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in B2B event management, you will take on both leadership and hands-on coordination responsibilities.
Your role includes managing the entire event process, maintaining clear communication with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring flawless execution of all event details. As a senior manager you are a core person enabling an efficient and pleasant workflow in our cinema&events place. Half of your hours you work as a floor manager, but the other half you are a supervisor to other floor managers and the service workers. You are a moving spirit and coordinator of LAB-1, a communicator and mediator between the management and the employees. As a floor manager you make sure that the cinema runs smoothly, you coordinate the work process, take care of the film screenings and, most of all, you offer our visitors amazing, flawless experience in LAB-1. As a senior manager, you observe and improve the work process, communicate and evaluate other floor managers, and check if the service workers have proper training and good work experience. You ensure safety of the visitors and service workers, good atmosphere in the team, and quality of the service in LAB-1.
Your qualifications:
- Minimum MBO/HBO working and thinking level;
- We appreciate educational background in management or psychology;
- Demonstrable experience in management & hospitality (you have at least 5 years of work experience in a similar position)
