We are hiring: Floor Manager (NL or ENG)
As a floor manager you are responsible for the daily functioning of LAB-1: you ensure that the films, daily activities and service are running. You take care of the film presentation by operating the equipment & checking the films. The activities involve connecting a laptop, microphone, lights and similar (light) technical actions.
You can be found on the floor a lot and ensure that the service runs smooth and bartenders are occupied. You participate in the implementation and manage the service employees. You also provide structure and optimize the work processes, so that the café and the rooms are representative and the visitors feel taken care of properly.
As a floor manager, you manage the team, coordinate and monitor tasks, train new employees and create schedules. You also take care of stock management. You coordinate the daily and monthly cleaning schedules. You also perform minor maintenance tasks such as replacing broken lamps, blockages toilets, etc.
You have an eye for hospitality and that is why you are also an example for your employees. You inspire them and direct them to convey the unique cozy LAB-1 experience to our guests. You help them to accomplish the tasks if possible.
You are the first point of contact for complaints and during calamities / technical malfunctions. You solve first problems and report them to the technician.
Your qualifications:
- Minimum MBO/HBO working and thinking level;
- Demonstrable experience in management & hospitality, also behind the bar or in the service
- You are team player, yet a good leader;
- You are assertive and stress-resistant;
- You are productive, organized, always on time, focused, have attention to details, customer-oriented, with strong communication skills;
- In possession of a BHV/Social Hygiene diploma (or willing to obtain one);
- Living in Eindhoven or near by;
- Good oral and written communication skills in Dutch or English;
- Interest in art and culture;
- You don’t have a nine-to-five mentality and don’t mind working irregular hours including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Work schedule:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Event Coordination: Plan events in collaboration with the Event Manager and Creative Director. Execute events during the night, coordinate workflows, and work closely with the organizing team.
- Staff Management: Train and guide event staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Venue Operations: Oversee the daily nightlife activities at LAB-1 in partnership with the Event Manager.
- Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement effective strategies to promote events and attract a diverse audience.
- Customer Service: Foster positive relationships with customers, address concerns, and ensure high customer satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in nightlife or event management.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Technical skills: Experience with sound and lighting setups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Knowledge of local nightlife trends and a passion for creating unique experiences.
- Responsible, organized, and confident.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
- Reside in or near Eindhoven.
- Possess or willing to obtain a BHV/Social Hygiene certificate as soon as possible.

Service employee LAB-1 Cinema (NL or ENG)
We are looking for enthusiastic and diligent bartenders!
As a service employee you do:
- The business card of the cinema, you are helpful and kind to our guests;
- You take orders in the halls and at the bar;
- You serve our guests and the bar and waiter the orderds to the cinema rooms;
- You accept payments;
- You are also responsible for keeping the cinema halls, toilets and foyers clean and tidy;
- You help with the preparation, such as preparing the rooms and replenishing stock;
- You help guests with the tickets and check the tickets;
- You provide information about movies and guide guests to the right room and seat;
- You are ready to work 3 shifts a week, around 21 hours;
- One of the shifts has to be in the weekend;
- If you are 18+, you are also ready to work at the night parties;
Your qualities:
- You speak fluent English, while speaking Dutch is a big advantage;
- You are a pleasant colleague;

Senior Manager (NL or ENG)
As a senior manager you are a core person enabling an efficient and pleasant workflow in our cinema&events place. Half of your hours you work as a floor manager, but the other half you are a supervisor to other floor managers and the service workers. You are a moving spirit and coordinator of LAB-1, a communicator and mediator between the management and the employees. As a floor manager you make sure that the cinema runs smoothly, you coordinate the work process, take care of the film screenings and, most of all, you offer our visitors amazing, flawless experience in LAB-1. As a senior manager, you observe and improve the work process, communicate and evaluate other floor managers, and check if the service workers have proper training and good work experience. You ensure safety of the visitors and service workers, good atmosphere in the team, and quality of the service in LAB-1.
Your qualifications:
- Minimum MBO/HBO working and thinking level;
- We appreciate educational background in management or psychology;
- Demonstrable experience in management & hospitality (you have at least 5 years of work experience in a similar position)
- You are a good, responsible leader;
- You are experienced in leadership and coordination;
- You have practical knowledge of events organization;
- You can guide a team of young people in a confident, but friendly way;
- You are assertive and stress-resistant, not afraid of multi-tasking;
- You are a good listener and great communicator, you can easily communicate at different levels;
- You are a good mediator;
- You are not afraid of learning new technical skills and you are ready to learn new software;
