In 1968, medicine man Raymundo Tigre Perez (Mexico/USA) had a vision. He saw Indigenous Wisdom Keepers from around the world united in a circular pit – with a fire at the center – performing a ceremony. A spiritual ceremony for the earth, for peace, and the well-being of all living beings.
He later discovered that this was a KIVA, an ancient ceremony used by the Anasazi 3000 years ago. Hundreds of native Wisdom Keepers answered his call, and these KIVA ceremonies have been held worldwide for over 30 years. The KIVA ceremony is a collective call from the entire indigenous population: they have never lost touch with nature and their Ancient Wisdom, which can guide us to a more connected and sustainable way of life.
This documentary provides a unique view of the KIVA Ceremony, where Indigenous Wisdom Keepers gather around a sacred Fire and express their love through prayers, ancient rituals, songs, and dance. They also share their concerns about the care for Mother Nature and humanity.
Through touching prayers and impressive conversations with the Wisdom Keepers, viewers are invited to reflect on how to heal our relationship with the Earth. 'Because she is crying and calling her children home.’ The Wisdom Keepers convey their final call through KIVA Ceremonies around the world, bringing healing and solutions through their Ancient Rituals, Prayers, and Indigenous Wisdom.

Carola Esparza - Mapuche Ancestry (Chile):
Carola was born in Chile, at the foot of the Andes. Like many Chileans, she is of mixed blood, a result of the colonization of Chile by Spanish conquerors. Seeking answers, she came into contact with the organization Sacred Fire of Itzachilatlan, a Native American Red Road (a metaphor for a spiritual way of life). For 15 years, she has followed in the footsteps of Dona Rosa Huenufil, a Mapuche grandmother and guardian of Mapuzungun (the language of the earth), who taught her the sacred art of the prayer woman (Guillipullera). She is a true peacemaker and a strong communicator from the heart. Her 'gift' is to help people shift communication from the head to the heart, live and make choices from there, and connect with each other.
Rafael Klompers - Timpico (Netherlands / Suriname):
Although Raphael grew up with a strong Dutch identity, he later discovered the rich spirituality and strength of his indigenous roots. An almost disabling condition brought him into contact with his ancestral lines, inspiring him to embrace his Surinamese heritage. Rafael works as an agogist in mental health care, a martial arts coach, and a medicine musician. He is a member of the Kalin’a group Whepokamanong. With this group, he honors the power, energy, and wisdom of his ancestors through traditional dance and songs.
