Flip World is a cultural exploration board game that invites people to 'cross' between two cities through folklore.
We invite everyone to our DDW workshop to experience the FlipWorld Amsterdam–Beijing v1.0 and, using a carefully curated co-creation toolkit, design Flip World cards inspired by your own hometown cultures.
Flip World is initiated by Sichen Guo and Xiang Yu, two Chinese designers and design researchers based in the Netherlands. Their collaborative practice explores how Art, AI, and narrative can foster human-human interaction, curiosity, and cross-cultural exploration. Through experimental Flipworld games and participatory design toolkits, they create spaces where people rediscover identity, empathy, and shared imagination of our interconnected world.
Flip World is a playful workshop where participants generate AI-based culture cards, remix them with handmade materials, and explore identity and difference through storytelling, co-creation, and a collaborative world-building game at LAB-1 during Dutch Design Week.
