An intimate and confronting coming-of-age film about desire, vulnerability, and what it means to truly be seen
Special: Q&A May 5, 2026 – 18:45
After the screening, director Muriel d'Ansembourg will be present for a Q&A. A unique opportunity to gain insight into the film’s themes, process, and personal perspective.
Alec is a quiet and introverted teenager growing up in the shadow of his father’s low-budget porn business. His understanding of sexuality is shaped from a distance, through observation rather than experience.
After the death of his mother and a forced move to a small coastal town, he enters a new phase of his life. At school, he meets Nina, an outspoken and independent classmate with strong feminist views who challenges everything Alec thought he knew.
As their connection deepens, Alec begins to rethink his ideas about intimacy, desire, and masculinity, discovering a more honest and vulnerable way of relating to others.
With Truly Naked, Muriel d’Ansembourg delivers a bold and sensitive film that explores how sexuality is shaped, distorted, and rediscovered. The film has been praised for its nuanced approach to consent and masculinity, as well as the strong performance by newcomer Caolan O’Gorman.
