Under the Rainbow
An association takes in young LGBT people made homeless by their families. Behind the apparent comedy, the excesses, the desire to assert themselves, lie shattered lives. They all have this furious desire to exist, to find their place in society. Here, they have six months to find a job, a place to live and accept themselves as they are. It’s a race against time, during which Noëlle, who runs the association, and Alex, who helps her in her mission, are also forced to face up to their own failings and question their motivation for helping others
The film is French spoken with English subtitles.
NL SYNOPSIS:
Een vereniging verwelkomt jonge LGBT-mensen die door hun families op straat worden gezet. Achter de schijnbare komedie, excessen, de wens om zichzelf te laten gelden, verbergen zich gebroken levens. Ze hebben allemaal het woedende verlangen om te bestaan, om hun plaats in de samenleving te vinden. Ze hebben 6 maanden de tijd om een baan, een huis te vinden en zichzelf te accepteren zoals ze zijn. Een race tegen de klok waarin Noëlle, die de vereniging leidt en Alex, die haar helpt bij haar missie, ook worden geconfronteerd met hun eigen gebreken waarin ze zichzelf vragen stellen over hun motivaties om anderen te helpen.
