Retirement was supposed to mean a peaceful life. But when a dangerous criminal organisation threatens his family, a former prison officer is forced back into action. Jailer 2 brings Rajinikanth back for another explosive mix of action, dark humour and revenge

After leaving his dangerous past behind, retired prison officer Muthuvel Pandian hopes to enjoy a quiet life with his family. But his peace is shattered when a powerful criminal organisation threatens the people closest to him.
With his loved ones in danger, Muthuvel has no choice but to rely on the skills, connections and ruthless determination that once made him a feared opponent.

As the threat grows, he is drawn into a confrontation where protecting his family means facing dangerous enemies and putting his own life at risk. What begins as a fight for survival becomes a battle to defend everything he has built and the legacy he intends to leave behind.

Superstar Rajinikanth returns as Muthuvel Pandian in the sequel to the hugely successful Jailer (2023). Director Nelson Dilipkumar reunites with the actor for another action entertainer combining larger-than-life confrontations, dark comedy and Rajinikanth's unmistakable screen presence.

With Anirudh Ravichander returning as music composer, Jailer 2 aims to deliver the energy, style and memorable moments that made the original such a major audience favourite.

The original Jailer became one of the biggest Tamil box-office successes of 2023, establishing Muthuvel Pandian as another memorable character in Rajinikanth's long career.

Although originally produced in Tamil, Jailer 2 is also being presented in a Telugu-dubbed version, bringing the sequel to Telugu-speaking audiences.
